The Technical Superintendent/Senior Technical Superintendent has the overall responsibility for the safe, economic and efficient operation of vessels assigned. He/She ensures ships are managed and operated in accordance with organisational policies, operating procedures and management systems. He/She is also alert to analyse risks and ensures compliance to the organisation's risk management framework.

The Technical Superintendent/Senior Technical Superintendent ensures that all procedures are adhered to and comply with International Safety Management (ISM) and classification rules. He/She may also be required to liaise directly with the ship-owner and respond to any charter or technical and operational queries.

The Technical Superintendent/Senior Technical Superintendent possesses a strong understanding of the technical knowledge of ships and keeps abreast of industry standards and regulations. He/She is well organised, is able to work in a team and may occasionally be required to sail Ｏnboard ships.

~ Acquire and allocate resources to support operations.

~ Analyse nature and causes of serious breakdowns and damages.

~ Brief crew Ｏn organisational policies, documentation and procedures.

~ Conduct appraisals of crew members.

~ Consult with manufacturers for specialist advice and guidance.

~ Coordinate with service engineers and contractors.

~ Maintain relationships with ship owners.

~ Manage compliance to risk management frameworks, policies and processes.

~ Monitor operating costs and submit quarterly budget follow-up reports.

~ Monitor ship defects list.

~ Oversee allocation of resources to ships.

~ Oversee ship compliance to regulatory requirements and legislation.

~ Prepare specifications and evaluate tenders.

~ Propose improvements to workflows to improve efficiency.

~ Update clients Ｏn ship status.

~ Bulk or container vessel C/E license and experience.

~ World-wide sailing experience.
